The possibility of a "Ghostbusters" sequel has been floating around Hollywood for quite some time now, but a few weeks ago Egon Spengler himself (Harold Ramis) confirmed that the long awaited follow-up is definitely happening with all of the original Boys in Grey returning to mentor some new ones.
At the time there was a lot of speculation that Ramis himself would direct, but now we know that that isn't the case. Last night, Ivan Reitman, who directed the first two 'Busters movies, confirmed to MTV that he would be directing and that the script from "Year Zero" scribes Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky is currently in its second draft.
When asked about the recent speculation by Sigourney Weaver that Bill Murray would be playing a ghost version of Peter Venkman, Reitman was noncommittal. "I'm not going to comment on what's in the script and on what Sigourney may or may not have said," he went on to say, "She's been so busy on 'Avatar,' I've not been able to find her. There's some very cool things in the new draft, let's just put it that way."
It seems like the entire band is back together and I am pumped.
