We're always happy to see people using their power for good and striving to make the world a better place, which is why we were particularly pleased to meet Patrick Schwarzenegger, Nick Sheinberg and Kimberly Barth, the dedicated young people behind Project360, a brand that uses fashion as a way to generate awareness for important global issues.

The three "philanthropreneurs" invited MTV News to visit their headquarters in Los Angeles recently, as well as their fundraiser to benefit Best Buddies, during which they explained how Project360 was born.

"Nick and I thought up the company at a women's conference in 2008 by just creating little rubber bracelets," Schwarzenegger, son of Arnold and Mariah Shriver, said of the organization's beginnings. "It was really successful, and Kimberly was working at another booth and she came up and said, 'These bracelets look great. I think we can expand from there.' We always wanted to do something that gave back to charity. Fashion and wearing clothes is a daily routine for everybody. What better way to spread the word of giving back and philanthropic ways of life than to wear something that gives back to charity?"

"The idea behind it is that it's more than fashion, it's a fashion statement," Barth added. "Everything has an inspirational message that reflects the global cause that we donate to. It's about more than clothing. It's about style and looking cute, but it's really about making a difference and making a global impact together."

Schwarzenegger said that while his famous family members inspired and instilled in him the values of public service, he and his co-founders started Project360 entirely on their own, with their own money, and their success has been particularly satisfying because of how much time and effort they've put into it.

"We sit down together, we ponder a bunch of names depending on what charities we've picked," Barth explained of their decision-making processes. "We go through different words, we talk about what has the most meaning to us and narrow them down, and we also want what would look best visually on a T-shirt."

The passionate, hardworking trio hopes the company can keep growing and one day be able to give back, like Toms Shoes' one-for-one business model.

"Every day, we have a new idea and new ambition, so we'll see what happens," Barth said. "I'm really excited about the immediate future and thrilled with how well it's come to fruition to begin with. We'll see what happens."

Immediately following his release from prison in September, T.I. got to work crafting his eighth solo album, Trouble Man, which he plans to debut early in 2012. During a recent stop in New York to promote his VH1 series, "T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle," the Atlanta rapper and reality star told MTV News that he had 50 new songs recorded for the album in a matter of weeks.

"My life inspires my lyrics at all times, so at that moment in time, when I first came home, I have about 15 songs just totally focusing on that," T.I. said. "Out of those 15, I probably picked the two or three most significant, most compelling, impactful ones, and after I've been out for a minute, then I've got records totally focusing on speaking to people who can only focus on that and telling them I'm ready to move on."

The title of T.I.'s latest project is inspired by a 1972 Marvin Gaye song of the same name, which Tip felt was an accurate description for the body of work. "The name of the album is Trouble Man, and every song on here is about things that can get me in trouble," he explained. "I'm reminiscing on the days when I used to run wild and do my thing the way I used to do it. I've got records that are just totally intellectually ignorant."

During his time behind bars, T.I. dropped his seventh album, No Mercy, and although it debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200 chart, the Rubberband Man plans to top that effort without breaking a sweat. "I was able to release a project that did well considering the circumstances, but I wasn't able to put my all into it, which made it only a fraction of my usual contribution to the game," he said.

So far, T.I. has released three singles from Trouble Man: "I'm Flexin' " featuring Big K.R.I.T. was the first to debut, followed by "Here Ye, Here Ye" featuring Pharrell Williams and his latest, "Pyro."

On Saturday night, Katy Perry took the reins of "Saturday Night Live," hosting the long-running sketch-comedy program. Displaying her flair for comedy and her budding acting chops, the singer shared with MTV News that she intended to celebrate her latest achievement the way hosts before her have: by attending the legendary "SNL" afterparty.

"Sunday morning? ... I'm still spinning 'cause I drank too much. I'm just kidding," she joked days prior, at Thursday's rehearsals for the show. "Sunday morning is gonna hopefully be, 'Ahh, that was so much fun, and we had a great time, and we all danced together on a dance floor.' ... I know we'll go till like 8 [a.m.]. I'll be hopping on that plane [after the party] with a hat, sunglasses, like, 'Hello! Yes! Wee!' "

It's been a great year for Perry: She had a hugely successful tour, tied a chart-topping singles record held by Michael Jackson, took home a number of big prizes, starred in the big-screen version of "The Smurfs" and found out she's up for two Grammys come February. And, that's just a few of her accomplishments. The "SNL" gig, she said, was the icing on her 2011 cake.

"It's a cherry on top," she gushed to MTV News. "Most definitely, you hear with different monologues of different hosts every week, it sounds a bit repetitive and stereotypical about how this is their dream come true to host 'SNL,' but it really is each and every one of our dream come true to host 'SNL,' to just have fun, goof off, try and make some people laugh. And, we'll see. Hopefully, I don't embarrass myself 'cause if I do, I'll stick to music."

Regardless of her future on the show (or in comedy, for that matter), Perry said the "SNL" women are truly inspiring. "I like females that are OK with making fun of themselves, and they don't always have to have the best lighting or they can play all kinds of different characters," she explained, owning up to a slight obsession with "SNL" star Kristen Wiig. "They don't have to play gorgeous and serious all the time: They can play stupid and funny and self-deprecating. I love that."

On the episode, for which Perry explained she got some advice from hubby and previous "SNL" host Russell Brand, she was joined by former tourmate Robyn as the night's musical guest.

Katy Perry put her acting chops to the test during her "Saturday Night Live" hosting debut this weekend, but the pop superstar also put her vocal talents to use in most of her sketches, lampooning fellow stars and even herself.

Kicking off the evening in her new blond bob, Mrs. Russell Brand walked onto the festive set in a tight red dress covered in Christmas ornaments for the show's opening monologue. She explained that her crazy video characters are based on real people she grew up with in California, and Kristen Wiig appeared beside the starlet in a blue wig with a whipped-cream-projecting bra, just like Perry's "California Gurls" character.

More "SNL" castmates joined the starlet in her video outfits and brought the audience to laughs when Wiig paired with Perry to sing a girl-on-girl duet of "Teenage Dream."

Aside from skits about Hello Kitty fandom and long-lost soul mates, the 27-year-old singer spent much of the night taking a stab at celebrity impressions, mocking the likes of Christina Aguilera, Florence Welch and Pippa Middleton.

In a parody trailer for "The Apocalypse," a play on the recently released romantic comedy "New Year's Eve," Perry dressed up as Xtina, singing her signature elongated notes. Then, Perry portrayed the Florence and the Machine frontwoman in a skit about a canine-themed soundtrack called Doggie Duty, and it was all about the royal family when the ever-changing pop star channeled Pippa Middleton in a segment that depicted a rather raunchy version of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

Katy Cats also saw their beloved pop star in a sketch about, well, herself. During an interview with a Finnish TV show called "Kalle," Perry becomes alarmed when the host, played by Wiig, cues to clips of anything and everything the singer mentions. "We have an excellent research team," Kalle tells the chart-topper of the constant clip-cueing. Things become strange for Perry when the talk show plays a clip from the future.

The latest episode also featured surprise appearances from Matt Damon and Val Kilmer, who appeared together with Perry in a Digital Short sing-a-long about best friends, and Alec Baldwin popped up during "Weekend Update." The Emmy-winning "30 Rock" star took the opportunity to lampoon his recent American Airlines controversy, when the actor was removed from a flight last week for refusing to turn off his phone during his Words with Friends game.

Perry shared the "SNL" stage with former California Dreams tourmate Robyn, who served as the evening's musical guest. Delivering a pair of high-energy performances of "Call Your Girlfriend" and "Dancing on My Own," the Swedish pop star showed off her awkwardly slick dance moves and retro '80s styling.

NEW YORK — Without skipping a beat, Z100's annual Jingle Ball kicked off at exactly 7:30 p.m. Friday night to an arena full of screaming fans. The head-turning lineup featured Demi Lovato, Kelly Clarkson, LMFAO, Pitbull, Foster the People, Mindless Behavior, the Script, David Guetta, Gym Class Heroes and Lady Gaga, who brought some of the year's biggest hits to the Madison Square Garden stage.

ZI00's Elvis Duran and the Morning Crew personally came onstage to introduce the night's most-anticipated performance.

"Years ago, there was a young girl in the audience watching the Z100 Jingle Ball [and] she told her mom she wanted to be a singer," Duran said to the squealing concertgoers. "Three years ago, she opened up the show with her hit Just Dance. It gives me pleasure to say that a lifelong Z100 fan has now become one of the most important artists of our generation."

With the crowd chanting "Gaga," the New York City native opened with Edge of Glory. But in true Lady Gaga fashion, she didn't appear onstage right away. Instead, she emerged from a Christmas tree mid-song, decked out in a studded leather outfit. She then belted her way through "Bad Romance."

"When I was 11, I came to this very concert and told my mom I wanted to be a singer, and guys ... here I am," she said, launching into "Just Dance."

"Some people thought I was just going to be a one-hit wonder," Gaga continued as she moved on to mega-hits "Poker Face," "Telephone" and "Judas."

The pop diva then paid homage to the holidays with a naughty rendition of "White Christmas," gyrating her way across a holiday-themed set, complete with antlers, Christmas trees and lights.

Mother Monster danced through "Born This Way," before closing out the show with her latest, the Fernando Garibay-produced "Marry the Night", for which she channeled the video by changing into a a hospital gown and carting an IV stand onstage. As the song ended, fireworks went off and red confetti shot out all over the jubilant crowd.

Jingle Ball 2011's stellar lineup was more than just Gaga, of course.

During a short break in the show, fans took to their phones and began tweeting furiously in anticipation of another act: Demi Lovato. Finally, after what seemed like years in tween time, Big Time Rush introduced the 19-year-old, who took the stage looking classy in an all-black, gem-studded blazer.

Lovato, joined by her backup dancers, opened with "All Night Long," and followed up with her new single, Give Your Heart a Break, to the delight of screaming Lovatics. Demi turned serious, though, for her comeback ballad "Skyscraper," and the whole room sang along. She closed out her set by ripping off her blazer, all the better to shimmy to and sing the finale, "Unbroken."

"Thank you guys!" she told her adoring fans. "You all have been so amazing!"

Turns out Kelly Clarkson, who took it back with her massive uptempo hit "Since You Been Gone," is also a Lovatic. "I've been waiting for a long time to do a duet with Demi," Kelly said. "Wow, she can sing her butt off!" she added as Demi returned for the classic "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." Needless to say, the two power singers ... killed it. (Lovato has long cited Clarkson as an inspiration.)

Clarkson then switched gears, dipping into her latest album, Stronger, for the sassy "Mr. Know It All," and chart-toppers like "My Life Would Suck Without You."

Gym Class Heroes opened with their staple "Cupid's Chokehold," but the hip-hop/rock band also rolled out numbers from their new album, The Papercut Chronicles. They said goodbye with frontman Travie McCoy rapping his solo hit "Billionaire," as the crowd eagerly sang Bruno Mars' hook.

Reality star Khloe Kardashian was one of the night's guest hosts, and she told MTV News she has "a passion for music." Dressed in LMFAO-approved leopard tights, Kardashian introduced the electro-pop duo, who were short one party-rocker. "SkyBlu couldn't be here with us tonight because he hurt himself wiggling," RedFoo explained.

Although he was without his partner in crime, RedFoo held it down, kicking off with "Sorry for Party Rocking" as he danced with two giant plastic zebras in the background. Foo went on to perform "Shots Shots" and "I'm in Miami" (a New York version, of course). He finished up with explosive -- there were fireworks -- versions of the LMFAO hits "Party Rock Anthem" and "Sexy and I Know It," as fans wiggled in their seats.

Youtube sensations Karmin also performed -- but not onstage. They surprised everyone by rocking right in the crowd.

NEW YORK — Fans got into the holiday spirit early on Friday night as some of the biggest names in music hit New York's Madison Square Garden for Z100's annual Jingle Ball concert. The eclectic lineup at the sold-out event included Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson, Pitbull, LMFAO, David Guetta and Demi Lovato.

Now, with all that star power under one roof, we couldn't help but think it might inspire collaboration between artists. So when MTV News caught up with some of your favorite acts on the red carpet, we asked them who they most wanted to team up with on the Jingle Ball lineup — if they could only choose one. And maybe it was no surprise, but it seemed as if everyone had their eye on Mother Monster.

"Probably Gaga," LMFAO's RedFoo said of a possible collaboration. "Let's do some dancing, let's do some partying, see what we can do, you know? Some fashion, come out there — it could be amazing."

And Grammy-nominated hitmaker Guetta was more than ready to hit the studio with the Born This Way star.

"Listen, I'm ready, you should ask her! That would be great, of course," he told us. "She's really a creative genius, and I told her the other day that I saw her last video ['Marry the Night'] and, again, amazing. I love creative people; it's what I live for. Obviously, she's really amazing."

When we saw the first trailer for Peter Berg's big-screen adaptation of the Hasbro game Battleship, there were "Blue Crush" and "Armageddon" vibes with regard to how we meet the main characters. Its roster is filled with some of Hollywood's most attractive players, after all, including Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgard, Brooklyn Decker and Rihanna.

Now, we have a new trailer that has done away with any expositional elements in favor of full-throttle action sequences. Here are five key elements to take away from this new footage:

Man vs. Sea vs. Aliens
The trailer opens with sweeping shots over the deep blue sea with the ominous wording: "The ocean. Vast. Unexplored. The perfect place to hide" ... an alien race! We see "Tremor"-esque sea-monster aliens, flying-airship-type aliens and even a robotic, human-creature-hybrid alien. They swim, fly and fight — in the ocean!

Rihanna Speaks!
Last time, all we got of the singing star's feature-film debut was a quick cut of her on a boat. This time, she's in on the action, gun in hand, and we see that her character is a trusted, capable, strong Marine. And she speaks too! "My dad said they would come," she says over shots of the aliens wreaking havoc around the world. "He say, 'We ain't alone.' He say one day we'd find them or they'd find us."

The "Transformers" Effect
From the first familiarly synthesized notes of the music to the disclaimer "From the company that brought you "Transformers," there are more than a few similarities between Michael Bay's take on the robots in disguise and Berg's aquatic version. Judging from what we see here, they're not creatures; they're robotic, computerized machines that, like Transformers, seem to possess the power to instantly adapt to their surroundings and change size and shape.

War Games
There are a few hints that the movie draws inspiration from the Hasbro game. Liam Neeson's character announces the start of the simulated and military-sanctioned "naval war games." Then, during a meeting at the Pentagon, a high-ranking official says, "Three destroyers are unaccounted for." This name-checks a type of ship in the game and has just the amount of military official-ness in it to suggest the "Who sunk my battleship?" line might be included somewhere.

Following the recent leak of photos from Lindsay Lohan's highly anticipated Playboy spread, Hugh Hefner and the powers that be at the magazine have decided to move up the issue's release date.

"Because of the interest & the Internet leak, we're releasing the Lindsay Lohan issue early," Hefner tweeted Friday (December 9).

Although he didn't specify a release date, he did tweet a few positive comments about Lohan's spread. "The Lindsay Lohan issue of Playboy is going to be a true Collector's Edition," he wrote, adding that online demand is clearly high: "Lindsay Lohan was the top search name on the Internet yesterday. Her issue goes on sale late next week. Hot. Hot. Hot."

The photo leak has been traced to an anonymous hacker who told Fox News he is responsible for uploading the files to Russia-based file-sharing site.

A rep for Playboy addressed the latest leak to MTV News in a statement: "Someone took photos of Lindsay's pictorial in an advanced copy of the January/February issue. They posted the photos online without permission. We are not releasing any official images or information until December 15."

Lohan is rumored to have received $1 million for the photos and the interview. She's scheduled to appear on Ellen DeGeneres' talk show next week to discuss her decision to pose for Playboy and had also planned to debut the now-leaked cover and another photo.
