More Death Magnetic Details Revealed

Yesterday, Metallica released the cover art for their new album, Death Magnetic, which is due out on September 15, 2008. Today, after an accidental leak by a sheet music website, the band was forced to confirm the official track listing of their Rick Ruben produced ninth studio album.

Lamb of God DVD

Lamb of God’s new double DVD set Walk With Me in Hell was released today. The set has over five hours of footage, including a full performance from the Download Festival and exclusive, uncensored behind-the-scenes shots of the band as they pound the pavement in support of Sacrament.

George Carlin Dead at Age 71

Legendary comedian George Carlin died yesterday evening in Santa Monica, CA from heart failure. He went to St. John’s Health Center complaining of chest pains in the afternoon, according to his publicist Jeff Abraham.

Carlin’s career included 14 HBO specials and 23 comedy albums, four of which earned him Grammy awards for Best Spoken Word Comedy Album. In addition, he was the first host of Saturday Night Live in 1975.

Rest in Peace, Mr. Carlin. You will be missed by all of us here at D:ET.

Lil Wayne Goes Platinum

After an amazing first day of sales, Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter III blew past predicted final numbers and sold over a million copies in its first week.
