June 23rd, 2008
Legendary comedian George Carlin died yesterday evening in Santa Monica, CA from heart failure. He went to St. John’s Health Center complaining of chest pains in the afternoon, according to his publicist Jeff Abraham.

Carlin’s career included 14 HBO specials and 23 comedy albums, four of which earned him Grammy awards for Best Spoken Word Comedy Album. In addition, he was the first host of Saturday Night Live in 1975.
Rest in Peace, Mr. Carlin. You will be missed by all of us here at D:ET.
